As I sit down to reflect on my journey, I'm filled with a profound sense of gratitude and accomplishment. Recently achieving the coveted status of Registered British Sign Language Interpreter (RSLI) marks the culmination of an incredible eight-year odyssey—a journey of growth, resilience, and unwavering determination.
My story begins after graduating from university with a degree in writing and performance. Armed with dreams of pursuing a career on the stage, I embarked on a path fueled by passion and creativity. However, life had other plans in store for me. Two beautiful children later and amidst the chaos of moving houses, my trajectory took an unexpected turn.
In the midst of these life-altering changes, I found myself reassessing my aspirations and priorities. It was during this period of introspection that I discovered my true calling—the world of sign language interpretation. Intrigued by its intricacies and captivated by its potential to foster inclusivity, I made the bold decision to embark on a new educational journey.
The road to becoming an RSLI was not without its challenges. Balancing the demands of academia with the responsibilities of motherhood presented its fair share of obstacles. Late nights spent poring over textbooks were interspersed with tender moments of nurturing my growing family. Yet, with each hurdle I encountered, I emerged stronger and more determined than ever.

Finally, after years of dedication and perseverance, I stand proudly as a Registered BSL Interpreter. The culmination of my efforts serves as a testament to the power of resilience and the boundless potential that lies within each of us. Though my path may have been unconventional, it has led me to a place of fulfillment and purpose beyond my wildest dreams.
